Sherwood Forest Celtic Faire

Saturday, Feb 25th:

Joe & I joined my brother and his family for an amazing day at the Sherwood Forest Celtic Faire.  We walked, and ate, and walked (LOL), and looked with amazement at the costumes, wares, and events.

My dear friend's husband was at the faire performing "RenFolk" music as the Bedlam Bards. We enjoyed seeing a familiar face amid the middle ages backdrop. :)

We were also surprised to get to see my sweet friend Joyce as she was filling in for a fellow tarot reader who was out that weekend. It had been months since I'd seen her, I loved the energizing hug and chat.

At one of the booths, Joe and I made a wax model of our clasped hands. <3  It was a long process, but turned out beautiful. Holding hands, we dipped them into hot wax a dozen times, and before the wax hardened we removed our hands leaving the wax covering. Then the proprietor of the booth dipped a rose into red wax several times and added it to our hands. The first set of hands we made did not form correctly so we had to go thur the process a second time, but it was definitely worth the time and inconvenience. I got to hold my beloved's hand (:  and the end result is amazing.

We were all exhausted by the time the day ended with a beautiful fire performance. We returned to Austin with my brother to enjoy some family time and discuss our amazing day together.
