Saint Louis

January 20-25th:

Joe had a company conference he had to attend in St Louis on that Mon - Wed, so we decided to fly up the preceding Fri and enjoy the weekend sight seeing. We had an amazingly wonderful vacation together!!!

The company had us at the Sheraton Westport Plaza Hotel. It was a nice place with indoor pool, bar, restaurant and nice personnel.

Bartenders custom made my favorite drink for me. Housekeeper set me up with lots of their soap, shampoo, and lotion that I just fell in love with. Front desk ladies were always friendly and helpful. Loved our stay there.

Sheraton Westport Plaza Bar, where I hung out the the tenders Jessie and Denny while Joe was in his conference. Instructed them on how to make my favorite drink for me, Blue Margarita, YUMMMM
LOL, our room door...
what goes on behind door is not for the blog. ;-p

The Plaza was very pretty and quaint with
shoppes and restaurants.

My favorite meal!!! St Louis ribs from The Trainwreck Saloon and blue 'rita from the hotel bar

I was really worried about going up in the Arch because of my
claustrophobia and fear of heights. but the excitement and love of the moment took over and I had absolutely no problems in the little pod that carries you to the top of the arch or looking out at the amazing scenery from 630ft in the air.

Saint Louis Union Station

Saint Louis Union Station

Beautiful architecture of the past. They just don't make buildings with character like this anymore.

The majority of the old train station has been converted into little shops. We had fun looking around and even found some souvenirs to bring home.

There was an artist there doing caricatures, so we figured we'd have one drawn to remember the day by... it turned out so cute!! Joe says it looks like Peg Bundy and Cheech Marin. LOL

In one of the shops, I saw this figurine of the Cinderella mice and commented I loved it... So my sweet husband bought it for me. <3

LOVED the visit to Anheuser Busch

Joe and I did a beer tasting class where we learned about different types of beer and even how to properly drink a beer to get best taste from it.

Then we took a tour of the brewery which was very interesting, I'd never even thought of what went into making beer.

My favorite part of course were the Clydesdale horses, so beautiful and majestic... and so VERY spoiled. LOL

We also visited the Cathedral Basilica. So very beautiful!!

We happened to be getting ready to leave when they began the evening mass Sunday, so we decided to stay for service. It was very touching and beautiful with the old pipe organ, amazing lady soloist and interesting service.
